About Us

Picture
I have been providing a mobile veterinary service to pets in their homes for over twenty years. Having started my career in the field of agriculture, I spent many of my early years working on various farms and attending to large animals. More often than not I was asked to check up on the farmer’s cats and dogs in the cattle yards, the machinery shed or the dairy. I went on to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
After graduating, I started my veterinary career in the East Maitland district as a mixed animal practitioner. It was during this time when I was providing a mobile service for large animals that I  realised that I could also make life easier for the owners of small animals and decided to bring the mobile veterinary practice from the country to the city.
I moved to Newcastle and established Mobile Vet Newcastle providing a home call service to companion animals. Originally the practice serviced a lot of elderly clients who more often than not did not own or drive a car and couldn’t always rely on friends or relatives to transport their beloved pets to the vet, as well as clients who for various other reasons could not get their pet to the vet. I was also one of the few veterinarians at the time who provided an emergency service to clients 24 hours and a lot of my clients still today are those that I met in the early hours of the morning. The practice grew over the next twenty years as more and more pet owners saw the convenience and ease of having a veterinarian visit their pets in the comfort of their own homes.
I soon established a hospital in Hamilton South so that I could provide for those patients that needed transportation and care within a hospital environment and also for those patients that may require surgical procedures to be performed.
Over the years I have visited thousands of homes across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie districts and still thoroughly enjoy visiting both old and new patients and witnessing first hand just how important our pets are in enriching our lives. I hopefully have been able to maintain that country practice approach in the city and would rather think of my clients as friends to catch up with from time to time whilst attending to their pets needs at home rather than a clinical approach.
The practice has a great team of long term staff members who have come to know most of you on a first name basis and work tirelessly in the background to provide your pets with the very best standards of care and a truly committed mobile veterinary service to your home.
